Concerns have emerged over alleged voter bribery in Ol Kalou as residents vote in Thursday’s by-election, with reports that some voters received Sh500 linked to a candidate.
Political strategist Pauline Njoroge questioned the legality of the move, stating,
“If this is not voter bribery, IEBC, what do you classify it as? The audacity of this regime? Good people of Ol Kalou, you know what to do for all of us.”
Separately, philanthropist Ndungu Nyoro shared accounts of voters receiving the money via mobile transfers.
“At 7.29am, Francis received a text… they were facilitating him transport to the polling station on behalf of a candidate,” he said, adding that the funds were quickly deducted to settle Fuliza arrears.
Nyoro noted that similar payments were made to other voters, raising questions about the integrity of the process.
