Police in Kajiado County have launched a manhunt for a suspect identified as Amos Wambua, who is believed to be behind the brutal killing of his pregnant wife and her children in a case that has shocked residents and raised fresh concerns over domestic violence in Kenya.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Wambua, who had reportedly been married to the woman for only six months, is the prime suspect in the killing of the 28-year-old woman and her children.

Authorities say the victims were found under disturbing circumstances, with evidence suggesting attempts were made to conceal the crime.

The incident came to light after a chilling discovery by locals.

Reports indicate that a neighbour’s dog allegedly carried human remains into a homestead, prompting alarm among residents and leading to the involvement of police.

The discovery set off investigations that would later uncover what detectives now believe to be a case of family murder.

According to investigators, the children killed in the incident were not biologically related to Wambua.

Detectives are exploring whether this, alongside possible domestic disputes, could have contributed to the motive, although no official conclusion has been reached.

Further reports suggest that Wambua had recently brought the children from Kitui County to live with him and their mother shortly before the killings.

This development has added a new dimension to the investigation, with authorities working to piece together the timeline leading up to the incident.

Police say the suspect fled the scene shortly after the killings and has since been on the run.

Tracking efforts have reportedly placed his mobile phone signal in parts of Kajiado County, raising the possibility that he is still within the region or moving between counties to evade arrest.

Investigators have also indicated that there were deliberate attempts to dispose of the bodies in nearby bushes, pointing to a possible effort to hide evidence and delay discovery.

Crime scene analysis is ongoing, with forensic teams working to establish the exact sequence of events.

The suspect’s family has also been drawn into the spotlight, with his father reportedly acknowledging the tragedy and confirming some details surrounding the victims.

However, he has not provided information on his son’s whereabouts.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has urged members of the public to come forward with any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect.

Police have warned that Wambua should be considered dangerous and have cautioned against approaching him.

The case has reignited debate over rising cases of domestic violence and family-related killings across the country.

In recent years, similar incidents have highlighted gaps in early intervention and support systems for families facing conflict.

As the search for the suspect intensifies, authorities say justice for the victims remains a priority.

Meanwhile, residents in the affected area continue to grapple with the shock of a crime that has left an entire family dead and a community in fear.
