Musician Arrow Bwoy has issued a composed and reflective statement following his defeat to Shakib Cham during the Vurugu 2 boxing event held on Saturday night, saying the experience has left him stronger despite the loss on points.
The celebrity boxing match, part of the high-energy Vurugu 2 card in Nairobi, drew significant attention as the musician stepped into the ring for his first professional-style bout.
After the judges’ decision went against him, Arrow Bwoy chose to focus on personal growth rather than disappointment.
“Respect to Shakib Cham for the win and big up to Oga Obinna and the team for putting this together,” he said. “Last night didn’t go my way on the scorecards, but I walked away with something more valuable—experience.”
The artist revealed that his preparation for the fight was relatively short, noting that he had only 20 days of training before stepping into the ring. He also disclosed that he was dealing with health complications, making the challenge even more demanding.
“Stepping into a boxing ring for the very first time after only 20 days of training, with some health complications, was a challenge I accepted with courage and determination,” he stated.
Arrow Bwoy said the bout exposed him to the deeper demands of the sport beyond physical strength, emphasizing discipline and mental resilience as key lessons learned from the experience.
“I learned that boxing is not just about throwing punches; it’s about discipline, heart, and mental strength,” he said.
Despite the defeat, the singer maintained that the outcome does not define his journey, describing the match as part of a broader personal and professional growth process.
“A loss is not the end of the story. It’s part of the journey,” he noted. “I’m proud that I stepped out of my comfort zone, tested myself, and gave it everything I had.”

Arrow Bwoy concluded by hinting at a possible return in the future, saying the experience has only strengthened his resolve to improve and come back better prepared.
