A little-known Kenyan entrepreneur is steadily building a multi-sector business empire spanning procurement, logistics, finance, and technology, positioning himself as a key player in regional supply chains.

Benard Odote, who describes himself as a “visionary entrepreneur,” is emerging as a figure of interest within Kenya’s corporate landscape, despite maintaining a relatively low public profile.

Odote’s academic background reflects a strong foundation in economics and supply chain management.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Mathematics from Kenyatta University, earned between 2004 and 2008.

He later pursued professional certification in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS) in 2010.

His training also includes specialised programmes at Nestlé Procurement University and the Diageo Academy, where he focused on sourcing, supplier management, and procurement systems.

Over the years, Odote has expanded his expertise through additional certifications in business intelligence, logistics, negotiation, and emerging fields such as blockchain technology and supplier diversity.

This technical grounding has informed the structure and growth of his business interests.

At the centre of his operations is The Odote Group (TOG), a conglomerate with investments across procurement, agri-tech, energy, finance, automotive, healthcare, retail, and logistics.

According to information on his official platforms, the group seeks to integrate financial services with global supply chain networks, particularly across Africa and the Gulf region.

One of the core pillars of the group is the House of Procurement (HOP), which operates in global procurement, import logistics, and renewable energy.

The firm plays a role in handling imports through the Port of Mombasa and distributing agricultural products while also offering financial services such as micro-lending and equipment leasing.

Odote’s business portfolio extends into multiple sectors. He serves as a director at Homeboyz Entertainment PLC, a well-established Kenyan firm in events management, marketing, and public relations.

The company has grown from a DJ agency founded in 1995 into a full-service events and branding enterprise.

In logistics and asset management, Odote leads WH Global Disposal Partners as Group Managing Director.

The firm specialises in the disposal of assets such as machinery, vehicles, and real estate, serving over 150,000 clients across Africa and the Gulf.

Its client base includes corporations, financial institutions, and government entities.

His interests in sustainability and environmental management are reflected in Waste Wealth, a Mombasa-based scrap metal and recycling business handling large-scale imports and processing of recyclable materials.

The company reportedly manages between 35,000 and 55,000 tonnes of scrap metal monthly.

Odote is also involved in financial services through Meridian Acceptances Limited, which offers products such as asset finance, trade finance, and emergency loans.

In agriculture, CropSoko Technologies supports farmers with production and market access, while PAWACOM focuses on renewable energy solutions and smart technologies.

In the digital commerce space, Get Deals Kenya and SokoPanda aim to connect businesses, consumers, and suppliers, including facilitating imports from Asia for small and medium-sized enterprises.

Despite the scale of his ventures, Odote remains largely out of the public spotlight.

However, his growing footprint across key sectors suggests an expanding influence within Kenya’s evolving economic landscape.
