Fresh claims of internal divisions have intensified scrutiny on the Linda Mwananchi political movement, raising concerns about its stability as the 2027 General Election approaches.
Self proclaimed ghetto president and Political activist Calvince Gaucho Okoth has painted a picture of a coalition struggling to hold together, pointing to the exit of founder Caleb Hamisi and growing disunity among key figures.
According to him, the once cohesive camp is now marked by mistrust and diverging political ambitions.
“The cracks in Linda-Mwananchi camp are becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. Caleb Hamisi, the founder of the movement, has already walked away,” Gaucho stated.
He further claimed that leading figures are no longer working in sync, a situation he says is weakening the movement’s influence.
“At the same time, Babu and Sifuna appear to be pursuing different political directions, while Osotsi is said to be sitting on the fence,” he added.
Gaucho also alleged a breakdown in communication within the camp, suggesting that coordination among its leadership has stalled.
“It is also alleged that his last direct conversation with Sifuna was about two months ago, with communication seemingly breaking down since then.”
Beyond internal wrangles, Gaucho linked the challenges to broader political calculations, including shifting alliances and waning momentum among associated figures.
“ODM MPs from Kisii who shifted their support to Matiang’i are reportedly beginning to regret that decision as the project seems to have lost momentum,” he claimed.
He questioned the ideological foundation of the movement, arguing that it may have been driven by interests beyond its public messaging.
“They pretended to be Linda mwananchi but if you go deep you will realise that it was about Linda Uhuru Kenyatta na Mt Kenya,” he said.
Gaucho also cited internal power struggles and alleged external influence as factors complicating the coalition’s future.
“Excessive behind-the-scenes influence from Uhuru through operatives such as Pauline Njoroge… and constant supremacy battles have left the coalition without a clear center of authority.”
He warned that alliances built on fragile foundations often fail to last.
“When the foundation of a house is weak, the cracks eventually become visible… From where I stand, Linda-Mwananchi is finished.”
