Political strategist and Jubilee Deputy Party Organizing Secretary, Pauline Njoroge, has praised Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna and Embakasi East MP Babu Owino for their role in galvanizing Kenyan youth and spearheading the Linda Mwananchi campaigns across the country.
Speaking on the growing influence of young leaders, Njoroge described the two politicians as “powerfully inspiring a generation and disrupting the status quo with a kind of command that cannot be manufactured.”
Highlighting Babu Owino’s appeal, Njoroge noted that the MP’s presence among crowds consistently generates excitement.
“Whenever he steps into a crowd, or even when his name is mentioned, the excitement is palpable. People instinctively recognize authenticity. They can tell when a leader is real, and their hearts naturally gravitate towards that,” she said.
Njoroge emphasized that Owino’s leadership style is defined by engagement and empathy.
“He deeply cares about people. You can see it not just in his words, but in how he engages, listens, and shows up. He is accommodative, patient, and intentional about bringing others along. He does not walk ahead alone; he grows with people and carries them,” she added.
Turning to Senator Sifuna, Njoroge described him as the “embodiment of fearlessness, courage, and principled defiance in the face of power.”
She highlighted his ability to speak with clarity and boldness.
“In him, you see a leader unafraid to stand firm, even when it is inconvenient or comes at a cost,” Njoroge said, recalling a moment in Senegal where young people mobilized to demand change as an example of the impact of principled leadership.
According to Njoroge, the influence of Sifuna and Owino is evident in the surge of youth engagement across the country.
“They are carrying the aspirations of a generation, giving voice to what lives deep in their hearts, and doing so with conviction and courage. Have you seen the unprecedented queues of young people lining up to register to vote? That’s what happens when a generation finds its reason,” she said.
The Linda Mwananchi campaign, which both politicians have championed, aims to engage citizens across socio-economic divides and encourage active participation in political processes.
Njoroge’s comments underscore the growing recognition of youth-led leadership as a decisive factor in shaping Kenya’s political landscape ahead of the next general elections.
