A prophecy made in 2020 by a Kenyan preacher has resurfaced online as former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju faces renewed public attention following the takeover of his disputed Karen property by auctioneers.
The prediction, shared by John Haggai of Proceeding Word International Church, has been widely circulated on social media in recent days as Kenyans debate the unfolding legal and financial troubles surrounding the prominent political figure.
In a statement posted in 2020, Haggai said he had seen difficult moments ahead for Tuju and urged people to pray for the politician. The preacher said the vision pointed to both health challenges and political isolation.
“Honourable Tuju needs prayer for strength. I’ve seen twice now a targeted attack with health and political isolation,” Haggai said in the message. “What I saw is a case of being hanged to dry in the next coming political season.”
Haggai also explained that he rarely publicizes prophecies involving high-profile individuals, noting that most of his ministry operates away from public attention.
“I don’t post or take advantage of events, especially on eminent and public figures, to build clout or clickbait since we came public in 2018,” he said, adding that his ministry largely operates privately.
The prophecy has drawn renewed interest after auctioneers reportedly moved to take possession of Tuju’s Karen property following a long-running financial dispute.
The developments have dominated online discussions, with supporters and critics offering different interpretations of the situation.
Tuju, a veteran politician and former government official, has held several senior roles in Kenya’s political landscape, including serving as Cabinet Secretary and as Secretary General of the Orange Democratic Movement party.
The Karen property dispute has been the subject of legal proceedings and public debate in recent days, with reports indicating that enforcement actions linked to court rulings led to the involvement of auctioneers.
As the story continues to develop, Haggai said his intention in revisiting the prophecy was not to capitalize on Tuju’s current challenges but to encourage prayer and reflection during what he described as a difficult period for the former minister.
“I pray for Hon Tuju to heal especially and to find help in the Lord through this tough season,” the preacher said.
The resurfaced prophecy has added a religious and social dimension to the ongoing discussion around Tuju’s legal battles, highlighting how past statements by religious leaders can regain attention when public figures face major personal or political crises.
