A man identifying himself as Tabu Dimby, claiming to be a nephew of former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju, has publicly shared his story, alleging long-standing family ties while questioning why he has never met the politician.

In a statement shared on social media, Dimby said Tuju “grew up in my grandpa’s home in Nakuru before he joined Starehe Boys Centre,” referencing the prestigious school the former CS attended.

Despite this connection, Dimby revealed that in his 45 years, he has “never met him or seen him.”

Dimby also highlighted his personal struggles, saying, “I have been jobless in Nairobi since 2012.”

He recounted that one of his students, Chef Robert, worked for Tuju as a chef, hinting at a missed opportunity for familial engagement.

The self-described nephew referred to Tuju’s business dealings, particularly the ongoing property dispute involving Dari Limited.

In Luo, he said, “being evicted is DARI,” and added, “Sama nichamo kendi to nimor sami DARI to Koro ikekoo,” promising to provide more context by posting information about his paternal grandmother.

Dimby concluded with a reflection dating back to 1988 and a spiritual appeal: “To pod angima Nyasaye Tek kuoma kendo orita,” loosely interpreted as calling on God’s guidance and truth.

Context: Tuju’s Legal and Financial Challenges

Tabu Dimby’s revelations come amid intense scrutiny of Tuju’s financial and legal woes. The former CS is embroiled in a high-profile loan and property dispute with the East African Development Bank (EADB) over debts exceeding Sh2 billion linked to Dari Limited.

Auction attempts on prime properties in Karen have drawn widespread media attention.

Tuju has denied wrongdoing and challenged these actions in court, alleging conspiracies and procedural irregularities.

The legal battles have seen mixed outcomes, including dismissals at the Supreme Court and postponed hearings at the Court of Appeal, prolonging uncertainty around Tuju’s assets.
