Concerns are mounting over the whereabouts of former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju after he was reported missing under unclear circumstances, triggering anxiety among his family, associates, and security agencies.

Details emerging indicate that Tuju had raised alarm a day before his disappearance.

On Saturday, March 21, 2026, he reportedly filed a report at Karen Police Station, claiming he had been trailed the previous day by a white Toyota Land Cruiser 70 Series vehicle without registration plates.

The report was officially recorded under OB 21/21/03/2026.

Later that evening, Tuju was scheduled to appear for an interview on Ramogi FM at around 7pm. However, he failed to show up, raising initial concerns.

According to family members, he has not been seen since Saturday afternoon, and efforts to reach him through his phone have been unsuccessful as it remains switched off.

The situation escalated further on Sunday morning when Tuju’s son, Mano Tuju, received a call from the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Karen Police Station while attending a church service.

He was informed that his father’s vehicle had been discovered abandoned along Miotoni Lane.

Following the discovery, the family formally filed a missing person report at the same police station under OB 17/22/03/2026, prompting the launch of investigations into the incident.

The sequence of events—from Tuju’s report of being followed, his failure to attend a scheduled media appearance, to the recovery of his abandoned car—has intensified speculation and concern over his safety.

The development also comes against the backdrop of Tuju’s recent high-profile legal and ownership dispute over his Karen property, where he had been actively contesting claims and seeking to retain control of the land.

The matter had drawn public and legal attention, adding another layer of context to his sudden disappearance.

Authorities are yet to issue an official statement detailing ongoing investigations or possible leads.

Meanwhile, the case is expected to attract heightened scrutiny given Tuju’s prominence in Kenya’s political and business circles.
