Mbae first gained public attention as a wealthy trader with visible signs of success. He owned high-end vehicles and ran businesses that projected the image of a thriving entrepreneur.
In 2017, he attempted to transition into politics, seeking the Kirimari Ward MCA seat under the Maendeleo Chap Chap party.
However, his political ambitions were cut short after he lost during party nominations, marking his only known formal attempt to enter elective leadership.
