High Court advocate Peter Wanyama has issued a heartfelt message following his defeat in the Law Society of Kenya (LSK) presidential election held on Thursday, conceding victory to Charles Kanjama.
Taking to social media, Wanyama reflected on the personal and professional lessons from the electoral contest.
“In life we all face challenges that can leave us feeling broken and defeated. But remember it is in those moments of adversity that the fire within you burns brightest,” he wrote.
The advocate encouraged resilience, describing failures not as setbacks but as “stepping stones” toward greater achievements.
He urged his supporters to “find strength in your scars that tell tales of resilience” and to confront challenges without fear, reminding them of their capacity to “conquer everything.”
Wanyama shared that despite the disappointment, he returned to work at his law firm on Friday morning, motivated by the encouragement of fellow lawyer Ambrose Otieno Weda, who praised his dedication to what he calls “blue-ribbon” lawyering.
Wanyama emphasized the importance of continuing to serve the legal profession with excellence.
“I would like to encourage all my supporters to take heart, recover, and soldier on. Valiantly. I am a phone call away,” he added, signaling his commitment to remain accessible and engaged in legal matters.
The LSK presidential election, which saw high voter engagement across the country, marked a competitive contest between the two seasoned advocates.
Wanyama’s message, though acknowledging defeat, underscores a spirit of determination and continued contribution to the legal profession, resonating with colleagues and aspiring lawyers alike.
His public statement reflects a broader lesson in leadership and resilience, highlighting the importance of rising above setbacks and continuing to pursue professional excellence.
