The government has released an updated disbursement schedule for the NYOTA Project’s Business Support Component, signaling the final stretch of the first tranche of youth business grants across the country.
In a notice shared on social media, Youth Affairs and Creative Economy Principal Secretary Fikirini Jacobs said the revised timetable will run from February 5 to February 12, 2026, and will conclude the initial rollout of start-up capital to beneficiaries nationwide.
The funds target youth-led enterprises under the NYOTA program, a flagship initiative aimed at promoting self-employment and entrepreneurship among young Kenyans.
According to the schedule, disbursement activities will begin on Thursday, February 5, in Kilifi County, with Malindi’s Butwani area hosting beneficiaries from Kilifi, Lamu, and Tana River counties.
This will be followed by a second exercise on Friday, February 6, at the Mombasa Show Ground, covering beneficiaries from Mombasa, Kwale, and Taita Taveta counties.
The program will then shift to the North Eastern region, where disbursements will be conducted simultaneously on Wednesday, February 11, in Mandera and Wajir counties.
The final stop will be Garissa County on Thursday, February 12, bringing the first phase of the rollout to a close.
PS Jacobs said the completion of this phase will see NYOTA Business Start-up Capital reach beneficiaries in 1,450 wards across the country.
He described the milestone as a significant step in the government’s broader youth empowerment and creative economy agenda.
Beneficiaries have been advised to take note of their respective dates and venues and to plan accordingly to avoid delays.
The NYOTA program is part of ongoing efforts by the government to address youth unemployment by supporting small businesses, innovation, and sustainable livelihoods at the grassroots level.
