Politician Millicent Omanga has once again made headlines as she prepares for the next general elections, reaffirming her continued presence in national politics.
Known for her outspoken style, Omanga has cultivated a strong following over the past decade.
Omanga first rose to prominence as a nominated Senator under the Jubilee Party in 2013, serving until 2017.
During her tenure, she focused on youth empowerment, women’s rights, and health policy reforms, gaining recognition for her active participation in parliamentary debates and committee work.
In 2017, she contested for the Nairobi County Women Representative seat but was unsuccessful.
She tried again in 2022 under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), but the outcome was the same. Despite these setbacks, Omanga has remained a visible figure in Kenyan politics.
Beyond her parliamentary engagements, she has held key party positions, including Vice-Chairperson of Jubilee Party’s National Executive Committee.
She has represented Kenya in regional political forums, consistently advocating for gender equity and youth participation in governance.
Omanga has now confirmed that she will once again vie for the Nairobi County Women Representative seat in the 2027 elections.
Speaking on X, she said;
“Wengi wananiuliza Rada …2027, nitakuwepo Nairobi Women Rep. Na nitakua saana – with my people. Nimewaskia, tuko pamoja!” signaling her commitment to remain close to her constituents.
