Several people sustained injuries after a public service vehicle (PSV) bus rolled in the Kimende area along the Nairobi–Nakuru highway.

The accident involved a Guardian Angel bus transporting students back to school as institutions reopen nationwide.

Witnesses said the bus veered off the road and rolled into a ditch after its brakes reportedly failed.

Residents near the scene rushed to assist, helping trapped passengers before emergency responders arrived.

Those injured suffered a range of injuries, from cuts and bruises to broken limbs.

The seriously injured were transported to nearby hospitals, while others received first aid on site.

Photos from the scene show the bus severely damaged at the bottom of the ditch.

The front section was crushed, the windshield shattered, and luggage and personal belongings scattered around, highlighting the severity of the crash.

Police have cordoned off the area to facilitate investigations, and traffic along the highway has been temporarily disrupted as teams work to clear the wreckage and restore normal flow.

Authorities urged drivers to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, particularly during this period when many students are travelling.

Motorists were also reminded to exercise caution to prevent similar accidents and safeguard lives.
