Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has publicly challenged former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of a long-standing pattern of verbal abuse and intimidation directed at female politicians.
Speaking on X, Wamuchomba cited multiple instances where Gachagua allegedly used offensive language against women in parliamentary and public settings.
Wamuchomba also criticized Gachagua for his conduct at a recent funeral in Kigumo, where Lamu MP Monica Muthoni was reportedly harassed by his supporters.
She suggested that Gachagua’s silence during the incident signaled tacit approval of the aggression.
Highlighting other incidents, she named Kiambu Governor Susan Kihika, Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru, and former MP Sabina Mbarire as past targets of Gachagua’s alleged verbal assaults.
She recalled the Mbeere North by-election, claiming that repeated attacks on Governor Mbarire prompted women voters to rally behind Hon. Wamuthende in protest, leaving Gachagua “deflated like a puff adder.”
Turning to party politics, Wamuchomba revealed who she claims are the true owners of the newly formed Democratic Centrist Party (DCP), naming Cleo Malala and Hezron Obaga.
She dismissed claims linking Gachagua to the party, calling him a “masquerader” and stressing that DCP is “not a ‘Mlima’ party,” countering perceptions that it is associated with Mt Kenya.
Her statements have added a fresh layer to the debate over the leadership and influence behind DCP, raising questions about the party’s true backers.
