Former Public Service Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa has hosted Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka at her residence in Kakuyuni, Kilifi, as she continues consultations on her political future ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Jumwa made the disclosure on Friday, August 14, 2026, saying the meeting with the former Vice President formed part of ongoing engagements with political leaders over issues affecting the country and Kilifi County.
“Honoured to welcome H.E. Kalonzo Musyoka, Wiper Party Leader, to my residence in Kakuyuni, accompanied by other leaders, as part of the ongoing consultations,” Jumwa said.
She described Kalonzo’s visit as an important development in the consultations, linking the discussions to both national politics and the future of Kilifi.
“His arrival marks an important step in our continued engagements and consultations on matters of national importance, as well as the future of our county and the country at large,” she added.
The meeting comes just over two weeks after Jumwa announced her resignation from the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) on July 30, ending her association with President William Ruto’s ruling party.
Jumwa said at the time that she had made the decision after consultations and intended to chart a new political path ahead of the 2027 elections.
She has also been linked to the Kilifi gubernatorial race, where her political influence along the Coast could make her an important figure in the emerging contest.
Her subsequent engagements have attracted interest from several political formations.
On July 31, Jumwa met Siaya Governor James Orengo, who welcomed her to the emerging political engagements associated with the Linda Mwananchi movement. On August 1, she held discussions with Jubilee Party leaders from the Coast region.
A day later, on August 2, leaders associated with Wiper visited her in Malindi and sought her support for Kalonzo's presidential ambitions.
Kalonzo's visit to Jumwa's residence on August 14 therefore represents a significant continuation of those engagements.
However, Jumwa has not announced that she has joined Wiper or any other political party.
Her latest statement instead maintains that she remains in a consultation phase, leaving open the possibility of a new political alliance as parties position themselves for the 2027 elections.
