Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Sunday, July 5, hosted a lively wedding celebration at his Wamunyoro village home, as the area continued to gain prominence as a social and community gathering hub.
The event brought together a newly wedded couple, Charles Nguni Muriuki and Agnes Nduta Nguni, alongside their children, grandchildren, and an extended entourage.
The ceremony attracted locals and visitors from different parts of the country, reflecting the growing profile of Wamunyoro as a meeting point for both social and public engagements.
Gachagua, accompanied by his spouse Rev. Dorcas Rigathi, warmly received the couple and joined guests in marking the milestone.
The occasion was characterised by a mix of celebration and reflection, with leaders and attendees engaging in conversations centred on family and societal values.
Addressing those present, Gachagua underscored the role of family as a foundational pillar in nation-building.
He noted that strong families contribute directly to stable communities and, ultimately, a stronger country.
“We had an opportunity to engage and reflect on the importance of the family as a building block for great nations and societies,” he said.
“We encouraged the couple to remain united and committed, as strong families are key to a strong nation.”
Rev. Dorcas Rigathi also participated in the event, joining in welcoming the guests and supporting the couple as they embarked on their new journey in marriage.
In recent months, Wamunyoro village has increasingly hosted similar gatherings, drawing Kenyans from diverse backgrounds for both social and interactive engagements with the former deputy president.
Gachagua further called on leaders and citizens alike to uphold family values, noting that leadership begins at the household level.
He urged couples to prioritise unity, respect, and shared responsibility in their marriages.
The ceremony concluded with blessings for the couple and their extended family, as guests celebrated the union in an atmosphere marked by optimism and communal support.
“May Almighty God bless our families and protect them,” Gachagua said, closing the event on a note of unity and shared purpose.
