Mash Poa East Africa is mourning the death of one of its long-serving and well-known drivers, Captain Nassir Magram, who died on Thursday while on duty along the Jinja–Kampala route.

Magram, who frequently plied the Nairobi–Kampala corridor, was described by the company as a dedicated professional, a reliable colleague, and a familiar face to many passengers who regularly travelled with Mash Poa buses across the region.

In a statement, the company said it had received the news with deep sorrow while accepting God’s will.

“It’s with deep sorrow and acceptance of God’s will that we announce the sudden passing on of our brother and colleague Captain Nassor Magram,” the statement read.

“We mourn a dedicated professional driver, a reliable colleague, a valued member of our team and a friend to many.”

The company added that Magram was widely respected for his character both at work and in his interactions with others.

“Magram’s kindness knew no boundaries and his positive energy left a lasting mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him,” the statement added.

Mash Poa extended condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, saying they were praying for strength during this difficult period. The company also prayed for his forgiveness and eternal rest.

“May Allah grant him the highest place in Jannah and forgive his shortcomings. Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un,” the statement read.

Tributes have since poured in from colleagues and members of the transport industry who worked with him on cross-border routes.

Fellow driver Iddi Mbaha expressed shock at the news, describing Magram as a close workmate and friend.

“Inna Lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un, inauma sana bro. We shared good memories and fun moments tukifanya kazi. Mwenyezi Mungu akuweke mahali pema bro,” he said.

In another message, he added: “Tumefanya kazi pamoja na inauma kuskia ujumbe. Mwenyezi Mungu akuweke mahali pema.”

Bus Life Kenya also paid tribute, saying it had once planned to interview Magram but the session was postponed due to technical challenges.

“It’s sad to learn that you are no more Captain Nassor Magram. For the few days I interacted with you, I saw a man with a good heart and pure passion for his work. Go well Captain,” the platform said.

BusCar Ltd described him as a respected figure within the transport sector, adding that those who met him would remember his humility and professionalism.
