A fresh political row has erupted in Embakasi East as self-styled ODM youth leader and “Ghetto President” Gaucho Calivince Okoth launched a scathing attack on Embakasi East MP and Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant Babu Owino.

The confrontation follows Babu’s public accusation that aspiring MP Vincent Opar is a mole for Interior PS Raymond Omollo after Opar participated in a Linda Mwananchi rally.

In a fiery statement, Okoth condemned Babu’s actions, alleging that Opar, a longtime ally, was being unfairly sacrificed in a calculated political maneuver.

“If you are supporting Babu, you are in danger. If you are not supporting him, you are still in danger,” Okoth said, describing Opar’s recent treatment as “beaten like a stray dog” despite his loyalty to Babu.

Okoth claimed that Babu’s move exposes a broader political strategy, suggesting that his gubernatorial bid is merely a temporary distraction before returning to Embakasi East.

“Jamaa anarudi Embakasi. His gubernatorial bid is just tantrums na vipindi,” Okoth said, warning supporters to exercise caution and not fall blindly for Babu’s promises.

The ODM youth leader also singled out prominent figures allegedly involved in Babu’s circle, including Pauline Njoroge, Civilizer, and Brian Weke.

Okoth warned that even those considered close allies could be exploited in what he described as a “con game,” asserting that supporters and office workers are being manipulated and underpaid for their loyalty.

“People like the women working in Babu’s CDF office have been used, all they are told to do is sing Babu kwa sababu all day and all night, and they are paid just KSh 2,000. Can 2k really linda mwananchi? Can 2k change one’s life? Surely not,” Okoth said.

He painted a picture of exploitation, describing the women as “held hostage mentally and used like rubbish,” with little regard for their wellbeing.

Focusing on Opar’s history with Babu, Okoth reminded the public that Opar had been a devoted ally since university days.

“Opar has been Babu’s darling from way back in the university. Babu took him from KU to UoN, not as a student but as a blogger, driver, and printing his campaign posters,” Okoth recounted.

He accused Babu of turning against Opar as part of a long-term scheme to cover his own political vulnerabilities.

Okoth’s warning extended to the wider youth and Luo community, urging them to scrutinize Babu’s motives closely.

“You will find that it is Babu who called on Opar to take after him in Embakasi East, not knowing that it is a trap to sacrifice him as a mole to cover up himself. More is yet to come… mtaniambia,” he cautioned.

The development signals escalating tensions within the ODM and raises questions about internal loyalty, political manipulation, and the strategies Babu may employ ahead of the Nairobi gubernatorial race.

With Opar positioned as a key figure in Embakasi East politics, the fallout from these allegations could reshape local alliances and voter perceptions ahead of the upcoming election cycle.
