Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has joined national leaders and mourners in honoring the lives of six victims of the tragic helicopter crash in Nandi County last Saturday.

The service, held at AGC Karen in Nairobi, brought together Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, fellow leaders, and bereaved families to pray for the departed: former MP Johana Ng’eno, Colonel (Rtd) George Were, Robert Kipkoech Keter, Amos Kipng’etich Rotich, Nicholas Kosgei, and Wycliffe Kiprotich Rono.

Speaking at the ceremony, CS Murkomen reflected on the biblical verse, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go” (Joshua 1:9), urging the nation to find strength amid the grief.

He described the deceased as men of valor, commitment, and devotion to both their families and professional duties.

Murkomen emphasized that the nation mourns with the families and communities affected, recognizing the immense void left by their untimely passing.

The ceremony provided a moment for collective remembrance and prayers, seeking comfort for the families while honoring the legacy of those lost.

Leaders in attendance expressed solidarity, noting the contributions of the deceased in public service, security, and community engagement.

The Nandi helicopter crash, which occurred on 28th February in Chepkiyep, claimed the lives of the six individuals, leaving the nation in mourning. CS Murkomen concluded by praying for the eternal peace of the departed souls and resilience for the families who continue to grapple with the tragedy.
