Bernard Ngeno, personal assistant to the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ngeno, shared an emotional tribute on Facebook following the tragic death of his boss in a helicopter crash on Saturday evening in Nandi County.

In his post, Bernard recounted the sudden emptiness he felt, reflecting on the abrupt transition from being a close aide to facing the loss alone.

“One moment, you are a PA to someone. The next, you are alone. Boss, uliniachia nani?” he wrote, expressing the profound shock and helplessness that followed the tragedy.

He went on to describe the difficulty of conveying the news of MP Ngeno’s passing to the public and constituents, admitting that he felt unprepared for the responsibility.

“Boss, I am sure you are shining on your way. But sir, you have left me to your people. You didn't tell me how to tell them about your passing. Everyone is crying boss. I can't manage. Talk to them yourself!” Bernard posted, capturing the grief and sense of loss that has gripped those close to the late MP.

The helicopter carrying MP Johana Ngeno, pilot George Were, and two others crashed while attempting an emergency landing during heavy rainfall.

The incident claimed all lives on board and has left the Emurua Dikirr constituency and the nation in mourning.

MP Ngeno was widely recognized for his vocal advocacy for the residents of Emurua Dikirr and his active role in parliamentary debates. Colleagues and constituents have described him as a fearless leader whose sudden death has left a leadership vacuum in the region.

Following the crash, tributes poured in from political leaders, friends, and constituents who praised his dedication and commitment to public service.

Bernard’s heartfelt Facebook post adds a deeply personal dimension to the public mourning, revealing the human toll behind the headlines.

As Emurua Dikirr residents come to terms with the loss, Bernard’s words stand as a testament to the bond between the MP and those who served him closely, underscoring the personal grief that accompanies public tragedies.
