A Kenyan woman identified as Monto has set social media abuzz after posting an explicit and highly emotional message praising Nairobi senator and ODM secretary general Edwin Sifuna, hours after his appearance on Citizen TV on Tuesday night.
In the viral post shared on social media, Monto openly gushed over Sifuna’s looks, grooming, and facial expressions during the televised interview.
Writing largely in Swahili, she described the senator as “handsome” and “mtanashati,” saying she watched the entire interview without missing a moment.
She particularly fixated on Sifuna’s facial expressions when explaining issues, disagreeing with others, and making certain gestures on screen.
"Sifuna ni handsome aki..I watched the entire explainer and couldn't stop thinking about this Sifuna. Kijana mtanashati sana..God took a good time to sculpture him. His facial Expressions,,there is something he does to his face when he explains or doesn't agree with something ,....eeeeeih
"There is another thing he does to his face when asking for something,,,this particular one kwanza,,..it became the Genesis of my wild imaginations..Love that part alot. I slept well. Aaah sifuna... Hii facial Expression kwanza is stuck on my mind...imagining mimi ndo sufuna giving back injections, ameshilkilia mafruuuuumbanyaaa like his life depends on it. Ooh Lord! Pure joy. The post quickly gained traction, drawing thousands of reactions, comments, and shares," the lady posted.
While some social media users responded with humour and memes, others criticised the post as inappropriate and questioned whether political conversations were losing focus on substance in favour of personal appeal.
Sifuna’s Citizen TV interview focused on national politics and governance.
During the discussion, the ODM secretary general criticised the government over the rising cost of living, governance failures, and what he described as weakening accountability institutions.
He defended ODM’s role as an opposition party, insisting that its mandate is to speak for ordinary Kenyans and hold the Executive to account.
The Nairobi senator also addressed bipartisan talks, cautioning that political dialogue should not dilute oversight or silence dissent.
He stressed the importance of constitutionalism, electoral reforms, and protecting democratic space ahead of future elections.
