Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has strongly condemned the demolition of several businesses in Githurai on Wednesday night, describing the government’s actions as “senseless and inhuman.”
The demolitions, carried out under the cover of darkness with a heavy police presence, targeted local traders and left many residents in shock.
In a social media statement, Gachagua criticized the deployment of “hundreds of police officers” to carry out the demolitions, calling it an act of terror against ordinary citizens struggling amid a challenging economic environment.
