The family of former Machakos Senator Johnson Muthama and current Senator Agnes Kavindu Muthama is grieving the sudden death of their son, Moses Nduya Muthama, who passed away on Thursday.
The young man’s passing has been met with condolences from friends, family, and colleagues in political circles.
National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, speaking on behalf of the Parliamentary Service Commission, expressed sympathy to the bereaved family.
“The Parliamentary Service Commission joins the family of Commissioner Hon. Johnstone Muthama and Sen. Agnes Kavindu Muthama in mourning the sudden passing of their beloved son Moses Nduya Muthama,” Wetangula said.
He added: “As a Parliament fraternity, we stand with the family in prayer during this mourning period. May the soul of the young man rest in eternal peace.”
Johnson Muthama announced the loss on social media, describing his son as a joyful and diligent young man.
“It is with deep sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of our beloved son, Moses Muthama Nduya, who passed on yesterday,” he wrote.
“Though our hearts are heavy, we entrust him to God’s loving care. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” he added.
President William Ruto also offered his condolences to the family, highlighting the pain that comes with losing a child.
“We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Commissioner Johnson Muthama, Senator Agnes Kavindu, and the entire family and friends on the painful loss of their beloved son, Moses Muthama,” Ruto said.
“There are few sorrows as profound as that of a parent losing a child; it is a burden no heart is ever prepared to carry,” he added, urging the family to draw strength from faith and the support of loved ones.
The passing of Moses has also been felt within political and community networks, where he was known for his approachable and diligent character.
