ODM party leader Oburu Odinga arrived in Mombasa on Tuesday evening for a series of political engagements across the Coast region, signaling renewed party activity ahead of upcoming mobilization efforts.
The arrival, confirmed by Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir on social media, saw Odinga welcomed by a host of party officials, Members of Parliament, and enthusiastic supporters. Nassir noted that the reception reflected the Coast’s enduring support for the party’s ideals.
“Together with party officials from Mombasa led by our County Chairman, Hon. Mohamed Dee Khamis, Members of Parliament and supporters, I had the honour of welcoming our Party Leader to Mombasa this evening ahead of a series of engagements across the Coast region,” Nassir said.
He added that the “energy, solidarity, and determination” observed across the region underscored a renewed momentum as the party prepares for its next chapter.
Observers note that the Coast has historically been a stronghold for ODM, and Odinga’s visit is expected to reinforce party structures, rally grassroots support, and engage community leaders ahead of future political campaigns.

Oburu's engagement tour, comes a few days after president Ruto has a development tour of Mombasa and Kilifi counties where he launched several projects and programmes.
