A Kenyan woman has sparked debate online after reaching out to popular Facebook influencer Being Wendy, seeking advice over financial strain in her marriage and openly questioning whether infidelity would be justified to supplement her income.

In her message, the woman explains that her husband lives and works in the United States while she remains in Kenya with their two children, the youngest just seven months old.

She acknowledges that her husband has built them a house, meaning she does not pay rent, a gesture she says she is grateful for.

However, she says the challenge lies in the weekly upkeep.

According to her, her husband sends KSh5,000 every week, money she claims must cover shopping, diapers, food, electricity tokens and other household needs.

She adds that while she runs a business, earnings have dropped significantly due to the current economic situation.

The woman says repeated requests for additional support have led to tension, with her husband insisting he has no extra money and arguing that earnings in dollars should not be compared to the cost of living in Kenya.

She feels overwhelmed, saying she also caters for her personal needs without assistance.

Frustrated, she admits she has considered cheating, arguing that she is attractive and could potentially get financial support from another partner.

She questions whether doing so would be wrong or whether she is simply married to a man she describes as stingy.

The message has drawn mixed reactions from social media users, with some urging open communication and financial planning between the couple, while others warn that infidelity could damage the family further.

Others point to the broader economic pressures facing households, especially those relying on remittances from abroad.

Being Wendy has not publicly responded, but the confession has reignited discussion on marriage, expectations, and financial responsibility in long-distance relationships.
