For Kiumbe Kipya, what started as a simple visit to her boyfriend’s house quickly turned into an experience that left her both shocked and fascinated.
In a social media post, she recounted her first ever encounter with a pistol—a moment that combined fear, curiosity, and a touch of thrill.
“It was the day we decided to take our relationship beyond the ‘friend zone,’” Kiumbe wrote.
After months of talking, her boyfriend invited her over, promising a casual visit. The moment they stepped into his house, she noticed the careful orderliness of his space.
Shoes off, phone on the table, keys on the TV stand, wallet dropped—everything seemed normal… until she saw the last item.
From the corner of her eye, she caught sight of a black object in a black case on the TV stand. Her heart skipped a beat. It was a pistol.
“I froze,” she admitted. “I couldn’t believe it.”
Her boyfriend noticed her shock and quickly reassured her, smiling and saying he was licensed to carry it for security.
To prove it, he pulled out his ID card confirming he was a legally registered gun owner. Still, curiosity overcame fear. Kiumbe asked to touch the pistol.
He carefully removed the bullets, explaining she could accidentally pull the trigger. When she finally held the gun, the weight was overwhelming.
