Jubilee Party deputy organising secretary general Pauline Njoroge has responded to critics following her appearance at the Kitengela rally on Sunday, where Edwin Sifuna led opposition leaders in addressing residents.

In a lengthy social media statement shared after the event, Njoroge reflected on the backlash she has faced as she transitions from online activism to frontline politics.

The political strategist, who recently declared her intention to vie for an elective seat in Nairobi County, said she had been warned early that public life attracts both loyal supporters and relentless critics.

She noted that some detractors previously dismissed her as a “keyboard warrior” who would never engage directly with citizens.

According to her, the narrative shifted once she began appearing at political gatherings, with critics now scrutinising her public speaking and amplifying perceived missteps.

Njoroge referenced the Kitengela rally, saying technical disruptions hampered her ability to address the crowd effectively.

Reports from the event indicated the sound system malfunctioned after police moved in and dispersed the gathering, creating confusion and interrupting speeches.

Despite the challenges, Njoroge dismissed viral clips mocking her delivery, arguing that leadership cannot be measured solely by oratory skill.

She cited historical and biblical examples, including Moses, to illustrate that effective leadership is not defined by eloquence alone.

“If eloquence alone were the measure of leadership, our country would be doing way better than it is under the current leadership,” she stated.

Her remarks come amid heightened political activity in Nairobi and its outskirts, where opposition-aligned leaders have intensified grassroots mobilisation.

Njoroge’s growing presence at public rallies is being viewed as part of a broader strategy to build political capital ahead of future elections.

The Jubilee Party figure insisted she remains focused on growth and resilience despite criticism.

“This journey is bigger than clips, critics, or commentary,” she wrote, adding that she will continue learning while refusing to “shrink” to meet detractors’ expectations.
