A fresh political dispute has emerged following allegations by Babu Owino accusing Interior Principal Secretary Raymond Omollo of involvement in the alleged abduction of his brother-in-law, prompting a sharp rebuttal from self-proclaimed “Ghetto President” and ODM supporter Gaucho Calivince Okoth.

The Embakasi East legislator took to social media on Friday claiming that his brother-in-law had been seized by officers linked to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).

In his posts, Owino alleged that the Interior PS was attempting to suppress political rallies, warning that the gatherings were “bigger” than any individual.

Hours later, the MP issued an update stating that his relative had been released at around 4 a.m. and dropped off in Machakos, though he did not provide further details on the circumstances of the alleged detention.

The claims quickly triggered reactions online and within political circles, with supporters and critics debating both the credibility of the allegations and the broader security climate.

In a strongly worded response, Gaucho Okoth dismissed the accusations and accused Owino of engaging in what he termed “victim politics.”

Okoth defended Dr. Omollo, describing him as a public servant who assists Kenyans across the country regardless of political affiliation.

He further criticized Owino for frequently invoking the names of senior government officials for political mileage, contrasting his approach with that of Edwin Sifuna, whom he said does not target leaders from other regions for publicity.

Okoth also referenced a past public dispute involving Robert Alai, suggesting that previous controversies had undermined the MP’s credibility.

He urged Owino to accept what he described as declining political relevance and to abandon tactics he claimed date back to the legislator’s university activism.
