President William Ruto has reiterated his commitment to ensuring that no part of the country is left behind as his administration implements its inclusive transformation agenda.

The remarks came after meetings with coastal leaders at State House Mombasa on Thursday and Friday.

“Our goal is to build a nation that every citizen is proud of, regardless of geography, community, religion, or political affiliation,” President Ruto said on Friday during discussions with regional officials.

During the meetings, leaders reviewed stalled development projects, many of which have now resumed

The President announced plans to dual the Mombasa-Malindi and Mombasa-Lunga Lunga highways as part of the broader national infrastructure transformation agenda.

Other commitments included addressing long-standing land issues by issuing more title deeds, expanding access to education, and upgrading a coastal hospital to national referral status to enhance quality healthcare for residents.

On Thursday, President Ruto met Kilifi County Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) led by Speaker Catherine Kenga and Governor Gideon Mung’aro.

The discussions focused on ongoing development programmes in Kilifi that aim to improve living standards.

These initiatives include affordable housing projects, modern markets, and student hostels valued at KSh21 billion, as well as road tarmacking and upgrades costing KSh5 billion.

Electricity connectivity projects worth KSh2.2 billion and the construction of the KSh900 million Kilifi Stadium were also highlighted.

President Ruto further noted plans to expand Malindi Airport, construct a bus park in Mariakani, and process title deeds across all sub-counties within the next three months.

The Coast region has long faced challenges of uneven development, but the President emphasized that the government’s agenda is focused on equitable growth and improving public services.

“We are committed to implementing initiatives that directly impact people’s lives, from infrastructure to health and education,” he said.

The coastal leaders welcomed the renewed attention to stalled projects and expressed optimism that the planned interventions would accelerate regional growth and improve the livelihoods of residents across the Coast.
