Political strategist Pauline Njoroge has shared a humorous account of how she was caught off guard by the buzz surrounding live streamer and content creator IShowSpeed following his arrival in Kenya on Sunday.

In a post on X, Njoroge narrated that her confusion began shortly after church when she opened Facebook and came across a post by Cebbie Koks Nyasego asking, “Who is Speed?”

The phrasing, she said, immediately threw her off, as she interpreted the question literally rather than as a reference to a person.

Njoroge explained that she instinctively thought the discussion was headed in a scientific direction.

She expected explanations about physics concepts such as velocity, acceleration, and motion, and even imagined equations being broken down in the comments.

Curious, she said she scrolled through the responses hoping to follow the discussion.

Instead, she found herself even more puzzled as it became clear that the conversation had nothing to do with science.

The comments pointed to IShowSpeed, a globally known internet personality whose energetic live streams have earned him a massive following, particularly among younger audiences.

Her amused conclusion, “Yenyewe tumezeeka,” captured what many Kenyans online described as a relatable moment of generational disconnect in the age of fast-moving digital culture.

IShowSpeed landed in Kenya as part of his global travels, sparking widespread excitement across social media and among local content creators.
