Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has raised alarm over what he calls betrayal within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), invoking the legacy of the late former Prime Minister and party leader Raila Odinga.

His statement comes as the party faces internal divisions ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking on X, Amisi accused some ODM leaders of prioritizing personal gain over the party’s principles.

He alleged that these individuals were using the party to advance their political ambitions, including plans to align with President William Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA), without a formal coalition agreement.

“They want to chase us all from ODM so that they can join UDA. They have sold your 40-year dream for small silvers,” Amisi said, referring to Raila’s decades-long struggle for political reform and social justice.

He added that party loyalists and Raila’s close allies were being mistreated, framing his message as a plea to Raila’s memory: “Baba, give us a signal.”

Amisi further accused opportunistic leaders of exploiting Raila’s legacy to gain seats while disregarding the ideals he championed.

He warned that the party risked losing its identity if such actions continued unchecked, emphasizing the need to protect Raila’s vision of a people-centered and principled ODM.

The remarks come amid visible tensions within ODM, with factions publicly disagreeing on whether to engage with Kenya Kwanza ahead of 2027.
