Several students, parents, and schools have reported difficulties accessing the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results shortly after their official release.
The problem, described as a portal glitch, emerged roughly an hour after Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba announced the results.
Affected users have struggled to log in to the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) portal to view individual scores.
Officials have not yet provided a detailed explanation for the malfunction, but early reports indicate high traffic on the portal may be a contributing factor, as nearly one million candidates await their results.

Parents and students have taken to social media to express frustration over delays, with some schools reporting challenges in preparing official documents for university admissions and scholarship applications.
CS Ogamba’s office assured the public that KNEC is aware of the problem and is working to restore normal access.
Experts note that such glitches are not uncommon during mass result releases, especially when systems experience unusually high traffic.
Meanwhile, students and parents are advised to keep trying the portal periodically and to ensure they have stable internet connections.
KNEC has not provided a timeline for when the portal will be fully operational, but authorities insist that all results have been processed and that no candidate will be disadvantaged due to the technical delay.
