Suna East MP and ODM National Coordinator of Elections, Junet Mohamed, has publicly dismissed reports suggesting divisions within the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

The People Daily on Tuesday claimed the party was split into rival factions allegedly aligned with Raila Odinga’s daughter, Winnie Odinga, and party leader Hon. Dr. Oburu Odinga, Raila’s brother.

Speaking on Tuesday, Junet rejected the narrative, insisting that ODM remains a unified and well-structured political entity.

“There’s only one indivisible ODM Party led by Party Leader Hon. Dr. Oburu Odinga,” he said, emphasizing the party’s internal coherence and organizational strength.

Junet highlighted that ODM encourages vigorous debate among its members, allowing them to voice opinions and advocate for positions before decisions are finalized.

However, once party organs reach a consensus, he stressed that loyalty and adherence to the agreed position are expected.

“Once the relevant party organs have settled on a position, the expectation of the party base is that we all fall in line. This is what loyalty, fidelity and faithfulness mean,” Junet explained.

He further dismissed speculation about any imminent collapse, directly challenging the newspaper’s portrayal.

“There is no implosion and there will be none. The earlier this sinks in the mind of Gatundu newspaper owner, the better,” he added.

The remarks come in the wake of heightened media attention following Raila Odinga’s passing and Oburu Odinga’s succession as party leader.

Junet concluded with a firm statement on the party’s readiness for upcoming political engagements.

“Linda Ground. Tuko Tayari,” he declared, signaling ODM’s commitment to unity and strategic preparedness under Oburu Odinga’s leadership.

The statement seeks to reassure both party members and the wider public that ODM remains cohesive, rejecting claims of factionalism and positioning itself strongly ahead of future electoral contests.
