A daring police operation in Denyenye, Kwale County, has led to the arrest of three suspects found in possession of a large cache of cannabis.
Officers from Kwale Police Station, acting on credible intelligence, intercepted a motorcycle believed to be transporting illegal substances.
During the operation, authorities recovered 210 rolls of what is suspected to be cannabis sativa.
The three individuals are now in custody and will face court arraignment.
The National Police Service said the arrests are part of ongoing efforts to curb drug-related crimes and protect communities from the social and health risks associated with narcotics.
“Sustained law enforcement remains critical, and public cooperation is key to the success of these operations,” the police statement read.
Kwale County has been a focus area for anti-drug initiatives due to rising concerns about substance abuse and trafficking.
Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to local security agencies. Similar operations are expected to continue across the region as part of a nationwide crackdown on illicit drugs.
The investigation into the source and distribution of the seized cannabis is ongoing, with authorities pledging to bring all those involved to justice.
