Former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo died on Saturday morning in a road accident along the Nairobi-Nakuru Highway, authorities confirmed.
The accident occurred in the early hours, claiming the life of the former parliamentarian and drawing reactions from legal and political circles across Kenya.
Prominent lawyer Wahome Thuku took to social media shortly after the news broke, expressing shock and disbelief.
“NO Cyrus Jirongo can’t die. The one man who was owned by money. He can’t,” Thuku wrote.
He added that Jirongo was known for avoiding delays, whether in economic matters or traffic, noting that the former MP rarely waited behind queues when he could overtake others.
