President William Ruto on Thursday paid a personal visit to the family of the late former Lugari MP, Cyrus Jirongo, at their Gigiri home in Nairobi County.
Taking to social media, President Ruto described Jirongo as his friend and shared words of comfort from the Bible.
Quoting Psalm 46:1, he wrote: “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” His message reflected both sympathy and respect for the late politician, whose impact on Kenyan politics was widely recognized.
Cyrus Jirongo, who once represented Lugari Constituency in Parliament, passed away last Saturday in a tragic road crash.
Known for his outspoken nature and active role in parliamentary debates, Jirongo was a familiar figure in Western Kenya politics.
The former MP’s death has sparked tributes from leaders, colleagues, and supporters nationwide.
President Ruto’s visit to the family highlights the personal bonds he shared with Jirongo, as well as the deep political respect for a figure who left a lasting mark on the country’s political landscape.
