Fresh details published by the Sunday Standard have raised new questions about the final moments of former Cabinet minister Cyrus Jirongo, following claims that a white car with three men was seen near him shortly before his fatal crash.
According to the report, CCTV footage from a petrol station captured events at dawn on Saturday, December 13. The footage allegedly shows a white vehicle driving into the station directly behind Jirongo’s car.
The report states that three men were inside the car. One reportedly stepped out and briefly walked toward the direction Jirongo’s vehicle had taken before returning.
A second man is said to have exited moments later and approached the co-driver’s side, while a third remained inside the car, watching.
It was during this sequence that the accident involving Jirongo occurred, as captured on CCTV.
The timing and movements have prompted speculation over whether the presence of the white car was coincidental or linked to the tragic incident.
Authorities have yet to comment on the reported footage or the claims surrounding it. Investigations are expected to focus on CCTV analysis and other forensic evidence to establish the exact circumstances surrounding Jirongo’s death.
