Margaret Wairimu Magugu, the complainant in a land fraud case against Karura Investment Ltd, is now facing charges for allegedly giving false information to a public officer.
The DCI says she tried to mislead investigators and wrongly implicate the suspect.
The case was mentioned at Milimani Law Courts on Tuesday, but Magugu did not appear. Her lawyers told the court she had fallen ill.
The court adjourned the matter and set January 13, 2026, as the final date for her plea.
The Land Fraud Investigation Unit (LFIU) has been probing irregular property transactions involving Karura Investment Ltd.
According to the DCI, Magugu knowingly gave false information during the investigation.
The ODPP has advised on the charges, ensuring the case follows legal and prosecutorial procedures. Magugu’s legal team confirmed she could not attend court due to illness, but no further comments were made.
Investigations into the broader land fraud allegations will continue as the matter heads toward trial.
