At the memorial service of former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo on Saturday, Jubilee Party Vice National Chairperson David Murathe stunned attendees with revelations about the late politician’s lucrative business ventures.

According to Murathe, Jirongo was a dealmaker of exceptional skill, capable of turning simple ideas into multimillion-dollar projects.

“Cyrus worked out big deals, some real and some in the sky, but give him a pen and paper and he could craft a multimillion-dollar deal,” Murathe said, highlighting the late MP’s extraordinary business acumen.

Among the ventures Murathe disclosed were ambitious projects spanning both local and international fronts.

Jirongo had been involved in discussions on the reconstruction of Libya, a major development project in Ruai, and even carbon credit initiatives with Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

While specifics remain under wraps, Murathe’s remarks suggest that Jirongo was on the verge of finalizing deals that could have generated significant economic impact.

Murathe also emphasized Jirongo’s patriotism, noting that his ventures were driven by a desire for Kenya’s stability and visionary leadership.

“Above all, he loved this country and wanted stability and visionary leadership,” Murathe added.

Jirongo’s reputation as a political heavyweight has long overshadowed his business exploits, but Murathe’s statements now shed light on a side of him rarely discussed.

His ability to navigate complex negotiations, both within Kenya and internationally, reflected not only ambition but also strategic thinking aimed at fostering growth and opportunity.

As friends, family, and political colleagues mourn Jirongo, the disclosure of his high-stakes ventures adds a new layer to his legacy—a blend of political influence and formidable business foresight.

His untimely death leaves questions about how far these deals might have gone and the potential impact they could have had on Kenya’s economic landscape.

This glimpse into Jirongo’s business world portrays a figure whose vision extended well beyond Parliament, positioning him as a major player in regional economic initiatives
