Trade Cabinet Secretary Lee Kinyanjui on Thursday joined the Maa community in Maai Mahiu for a celebration at the home of Chairman Kidong Ranch, Samwel Sarite, in Satellite.
The event brought together residents to discuss local development and investment opportunities.
CS Kinyanjui commended the community’s eagerness to benefit from the Inland Container Depot (ICD) and the Special Economic Zone (SEZ), highlighting that several industries and companies had already set up operations in the area.
“I was encouraged to note the community’s strong eagerness to benefit from the ICD and SEZ, including the industries and companies that have already set up operations in the area,” Kinyanjui said.
Residents used the occasion to raise concerns about employment, as well as access to basic services such as water and electricity.
Kinyanjui assured the community that he would work closely with relevant ministries to address these issues.
The CS also emphasized the significance of the recently launched Maai Mahiu–Naivasha Road expansion, part of the Rironi–Mau Summit Superhighway project initiated by President William Ruto. He noted that the project would enhance connectivity, attract investors, and boost development in the region.
Community leaders welcomed Kinyanjui’s engagement, stressing the importance of inclusive growth that allows local residents to benefit from ongoing projects.
Kinyanjui concluded by pledging continued government support, promising to ensure that the concerns raised during the event translate into tangible opportunities for the Maa community.
