Mbeere North Constituency began voting on Thursday morning with a notable early turnout, as residents streamed to polling stations to elect a new Member of Parliament.

UDA Party Deputy Leader and Deputy President Kithure Kindiki had earlier encouraged supporters to arrive early to ensure smooth participation.

Party sources indicated that Leonard Wamuthende, the UDA candidate, has drawn visible support from voters across the constituency.

At key polling centres, including Siakago Social Hall, officials confirmed that the voting process was running efficiently, with queues moving steadily.

Security personnel were present, and both voters and election staff described the environment as safe and controlled.

Mbeere North has historically been a competitive constituency, with previous parliamentary contests witnessing close margins between major political parties.

Residents interviewed at polling stations expressed enthusiasm about participating in the democratic process.

“Today is the day we choose our representative,” said one voter at Siakago, reflecting a sentiment echoed by many across the constituency.

The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) is overseeing the by-election, ensuring adherence to electoral regulations and transparency measures.

Updates on voter participation and early results are expected later in the day.

As the day progresses, parties and candidates continue to monitor developments, emphasizing peaceful conduct and compliance with election rules.
