Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale has congratulated newly elected leaders across several constituencies and counties following Thursday’s by-elections, which saw a strong showing for United Democratic Alliance (UDA) and Broad-Based Government-affiliated candidates.
Duale singled out Hon. Ahmed Maalim Hassan for his election as Member of Parliament for Banisa Constituency, highlighting the candidate’s victory as part of a broader trend of support for the ruling coalition.
He also acknowledged the successes of Kiprono Cheburet Chemitei, who secured the Baringo County Senatorial seat, and other parliamentary winners including Boyd Ongondo Were (Kasipul), Harrison Garama Kombe (Magarini), David Ndakwa (Malava), Leonard Muthende (Mbeere North), and Moses Omondi Okoth (Ugunja).
The CS extended his congratulations to newly elected Members of County Assemblies affiliated with parties aligned to the Broad-Based Government, underlining the continued role of local representation in shaping Kenya’s devolved governance structures.
“These victories reflect the Kenyan people’s confidence in the leadership and vision of H.E. President William Ruto,” Duale stated in a post on X.
Kenya’s by-elections are often viewed as barometers of national political sentiment, providing insight into how parties perform outside general election cycles.
The recent elections also come amid broader discussions on the performance of elected officials and the effectiveness of service delivery at both national and county levels.
Duale encouraged the incoming leaders to approach their roles with integrity and commitment, stressing the importance of community-focused governance.
The elected MPs and MCAs are expected to take the oath of office in the coming weeks, formally beginning their legislative and county duties.
