Narcotics Recovered, Suspect Arrested in Mombasa Police Crackdown

A police operation in Maganda, Mombasa County, has led to the arrest of a suspect and the recovery of narcotics believed to be destined for local distribution.

The operation was carried out by officers from Maganda Police Station following an intelligence tip-off on illicit drug and alcohol activities in the area.

In a statement, the National Police Service (NPS) said the officers confiscated 32 rolls and 40 sachets of a substance suspected to be narcotics.

The suspect was taken into custody and is expected to be charged once investigations are completed.

Police praised the officers involved for what they described as a firm stand against drug trafficking and the sale of illegal alcohol.

“We commend our officers for their unwavering commitment to combating illicit alcohol and narcotics,” NPS stated.

Authorities are appealing to residents to help strengthen the ongoing fight against narcotics by reporting criminal activity through emergency lines 999, 911, or 112.

The Maganda operation adds to a series of security efforts targeting drug peddlers and illegal brewers across the Coast region.

Police say these coordinated crackdowns are intended to curb rising drug-related crimes and restore community safety.
