A video recorded by journalist Larry Madowo has exposed a Kibra Member of Parliament allegedly breaking traffic laws, sparking widespread discussion on social media about accountability and technology’s role in public oversight.

Madowo shared the footage on his X account, noting that he initially did not know the person in the video was a lawmaker.

“That iPhone 17 Pro Max camera came through. I didn’t know one was an MP when I posted, but they were caught in 4K, so people recognized him quickly,” he wrote.u

The short clip shows a vehicle performing what appears to be a traffic violation.

Its clarity quickly helped online users identify the MP involved, turning what began as an ordinary post into a viral moment that drew thousands of reactions and comments.

Madowo’s mention of the iPhone 17 Pro Max camera drew as much curiosity as the footage itself, with many users fascinated by the device’s ability to capture detailed motion even in fast-moving scenes.

Some social media users joked that the phone’s “4K power” had turned into a tool for civic accountability.

The incident has renewed conversations about how smartphones and citizen journalism are transforming the monitoring of public conduct.

What was once the work of professional reporters and traffic enforcers is now frequently captured by ordinary citizens — or, in this case, by a journalist sharing content in real time.
