Uhuru Stages Comeback as Jubilee Delegates Meet in Nairobi

The Jubilee Party is holding a dramatic Special National Delegates Conference (NDC) today, setting the stage for the official return of former President Uhuru Kenyatta as party leader.

Deputy organizing secretary Pauline Njoroge described the event as “Uhuru’s Day,” signaling the end of years of uncertainty within the once-mighty party.

In a statement shared on X, Njoroge said the meeting would “usher in a new chapter” after Jubilee endured nearly three years of bitter wrangles and an attempted takeover that left it weakened both in Parliament and on the ground.

“Today, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta officially takes charge of the Jubilee Party, charting the way forward,” she declared.

The Nairobi meeting comes after months of internal fights that saw rival factions tear at the party’s unity.

Many insiders view Uhuru’s return as the final stamp of authority in reclaiming the party from political adversaries.

All eyes will be on the former president’s keynote speech, which is expected to lay out his vision for Jubilee as Kenya edges closer to the 2027 elections.

Delegates are also set to debate grassroots rebuilding, reforms, and fresh strategies to restore the party’s strength.

With Uhuru back in the driver’s seat, many believe the party is preparing for a comeback on the national stage.
