Kileleshwa MCA Robert Alai has sent a blunt warning to ODM leader Raila Odinga, urging him not to abandon his current working relationship with President William Ruto.
In a f post on X, Alai claimed that a clique he described as “Ting’ Bada Malo” (Raise My Hands) is pressuring Raila to walk away from the government partnership.
According to him, the group is being financed by powerful figures from the Kibaki and Uhuru era who are plotting to push ODM out of government.
“It will be the biggest mistake of our lives for ODM to leave the partnership with UDA in the broad base arrangement,” Alai wrote, insisting the scheme is meant to weaken Raila’s influence and cut off his community from state power.
The outspoken MCA did not mince words, warning that if Raila caves in to pressure, the Luo community could face political and economic isolation.
“Baba, don’t allow this gang of opportunists to disempower and permanently impoverish your people,” he added.
Alai’s remarks land at a time when cracks are widening within ODM over its role in the broad-based government.
While some party loyalists argue that Ruto’s UDA is using ODM as political decoration, others like Alai believe quitting the deal would be suicidal.
