Moments of anger within relationships often spiral into consequences that extend far beyond the individuals involved.

In many cases, what begins as emotional conflict can quickly turn into physical confrontation, raising concerns about safety, accountability, and how victims choose to respond.

Across societies, discussions on domestic violence continue to evolve, with increasing emphasis on reporting abuse rather than retaliating, regardless of gender or circumstance.

A man identified as Letlhogonolo Mosalo has sparked widespread reactions online after sharing a personal account of alleged assault by his girlfriend and his decision to report her to the police.

In a Facebook post, Mosalo claimed his girlfriend, who has reportedly been in prison since last year, attacked him after discovering he had cheated on her.

According to his account, she struck him with a bottle during the confrontation, prompting him to seek legal action instead of retaliating physically.

“I have a girlfriend that has been in prison since last year. She found out that I cheated and hit me with a bottle.”

Mosalo stated that he reported the incident to authorities, leading to her arrest. He added that he chose not to engage in physical retaliation, emphasizing that violence was not an acceptable response for him.

His remarks have drawn attention for challenging common perceptions around masculinity and how men handle domestic violence.

“I am not a white person in a movie, violence can never be sexy to me. I simply went to the police station and got her arrested.”

He further revealed that he continued his relationship with the woman he had cheated with, even after the incident.

Despite the legal action taken, Mosalo suggested he may be open to reconciling with his girlfriend upon her release, indicating that he would “give her love back” if she had undergone rehabilitation.

“Gents, that's how you deal with these criminals, do not fight back physically.”

“When she comes back in November I will give her love back if she's rehab’d.”

The post has ignited mixed reactions online, with some users supporting his decision to involve the police, while others questioned the complexities of the relationship dynamics described.
