Police in Trans Nzoia County have arrested three suspects linked to a violent robbery that took place early Saturday morning near Kitale Bus Park, according to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
In a statement, the DCI said the incident was reported by a victim who was attacked on March 14, 2026, at around 5:00 am by three men riding a red TVS motorcycle with registration number KMEW 083C.
The suspects, armed with knives and pangas, reportedly confronted the victim and robbed him of several items.
Among the stolen property were a Tecno Camon 40 mobile phone, a laptop, spanners, and a car control computer that had been packed inside a black bag.
During the robbery, the victim sustained minor injuries to his face and hands after being assaulted by the attackers.
Police officers from Kitale Police Station launched an immediate operation following the report. Acting on leads, officers intercepted the motorcycle in the Laini Moja area and arrested the rider, identified as Alex Inanga.
According to investigators, Inanga later led officers to the Mitume area, where two other suspects believed to have participated in the robbery were found.
The suspects, identified as John Ekai, also known as Steve, and Richard Andaa, also known as Riche, were reportedly asleep in a mud house when officers arrived and arrested them.
A search conducted inside the house led to the recovery of a black bag containing the stolen Tecno Camon 40 mobile phone, spanners, and a penknife.
Police said the items were later positively identified by the victim as those taken during the robbery.
The victim received treatment at Kijana Wamalwa Teaching and Referral Hospital and was later discharged in stable condition.
The three suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue. Authorities said they are being processed to face charges of robbery with violence.
The DCI reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing individuals involved in violent crime and urged members of the public to continue cooperating with law enforcement agencies to enhance community safety.
