A woman’s relationship ended in the most unexpected way after her Christian boyfriend reportedly dumped her—not over infidelity or personality clashes—but because she couldn’t blow the trumpet, a skill he apparently considered essential before she could sing.
The woman took to social media to narrate a bizarre breakup with her “Christian brother” boyfriend, who reportedly ended their relationship over what she described as an unusual demand: the ability to blow the trumpet.
Dr Dorcas Drock, a popular Facebook user, shared the story in a post that quickly went viral, leaving many netizens in stitches.
According to her, the relationship was progressing normally, including discussions on future plans and intimate expectations, when the boyfriend asked: “Can you blow the trumpet?”
“I was confused. I told him, ‘No o. I don’t play instruments like that. The closest thing I do is small piano chords. But I can sing very well—like an angel in fact,’” Dr Drock wrote. She emphasized her singing talent, noting that she performs in church, at events, and even while cooking.
Despite her musical abilities, the boyfriend allegedly insisted he preferred a woman who could play the trumpet, especially before singing. This, according to Dr Drock, was the end of the relationship.
While many might find the reason for the breakup trivial, Dr Drock said she appreciated her ex’s honesty.
“At least he expressed his mind and his fantasies. It saved me from being with someone who places wild desires above being with a quality person who brings real value to a relationship,” she reflected.
She also left her followers with a humorous take on the incident: “Na by force to learn trumpet? Or maybe I was simply saved early… These our Christian brothers ehn… you will think they are saints until you hear the experiences of the women that dated them.”
In the end, Dr Drock concluded, “Na song I sabi sing… trumpet I no know ooo.”
